The Forum's Fifth Annual Local Fiction Authors' Panel


Each year, the Forum highlights a few of our many talented local fiction authors in
Fort Lauderdale and the South Florida region.

Joanne Lewis is an attorney and novelist. Joanne earns a living as an attorney representing the interests of children in court and, in her words, lives her dreams as a writer. Her mysteries include Forbidden Room and a prequel, Forbidden Night, available later this year, and Wicked Good. She also is the author of The Lantern, a historical novel set in Florence, Italy, and Michelangelo & the Morgue, a historical novella.

Kingsley Guy is the author of Queen of the Heavens, a novel set in ancient Egypt. He was employed by the Sun-Sentinel newspaper for 30 years, including 23 years as editorial page editor. He is retired and now writes on a freelance basis for the Sun-Sentinel and other South Florida publications. Kingsley currently is writing a second novel, also set in ancient Egypt.

Joe Collum is the author of three books after a career as a journalist which ended with extensive coverage of the collapse of the World Trade Center in 2011. As an investigative journalist, Joe and the recipient of more than 100 major journalism awards and a dozen Emmys. His first book, The Black Dragon, Racial Profiling Exposed,was published in 2010 and was the first to examine the practice. His first novel, Brady’s Run, set in Ft. Lauderdale, was published in 2009, and the sequel, Et Tu Brady, appeared in 2013. Another in the series, A Bullet for Brady, is scheduled for release this year.
