Alan C. Hooper, Real Estate Re-Developer

A native of Fort Lauderdale, Alan Hooper co-founded and operates Urban Street Development, and is a partner in The Restaurant People, Inc., and Founder and President of Hooper Construction.

For the past 25 years, he has planned, designed, developed, constructed, and managed approximately 2 million square feet of neighborhood mixed use projects. Alan Hooper is the man behind many Fort Lauderdale staples, leaving his mark on Tarpon Bend, YOLO, Avenue Lofts and more.  Along with his partner, Tim Petrillo, Alan has built a “re-development” business that focuses on revitalization in areas within a downtown market that possess the best potential for growth and renewed lifestyle.  Over the years his companies have implemented great care and pride to develop projects within these urban neighborhoods that can deliver added value not only for the projects but for the community as a whole.

Alan Kennedy is a Managing Director at Hines and is responsible for securing and managing various real estate projects in the Southeast Region of the United States.  Hines is a privately owned global real estate investment, development and management firm, founded in 1957, with a presence in 314 cities in 28 countries and $92.3 billion¹ of investment assets under management and more than 102.1 million square feet of assets for which Hines provides third-party property-level services. Alan has been with Hines for 18 years with the primary focus on his business being in the mixed-use space. Since joining Hines in 2005, he has been involved in the development, management and leasing of over 4.5 million SF of office, retail and multifamily projects and has led the master planning of over 7.5 million SF of mixed-use projects; most recently a 228,893-square-foot office building within Alpharetta, GA ’s highly successful Village of Avalon, an 86-acre mixed-use master development. Mr. Kennedy has a mechanical engineering degree from Georgia Tech and a MBA from Emory University.
